FireGuide is a personal trainer app for fire safety that makes it easy for parents and caregivers to design a fire evacuation plan customized to their home using their own voice, so kids can practice fire drills regularly.

We have less than 3 minutes to escape a room on fire. One child dies every day in a home fire because they have so little time and don’t know what to do. FireGuide trains children to rescue themselves when there is no time to wait.

The harsh sound of a fire alarm or smoke detector is commonly associated with panic, agitation, and fear, but with FireGuide, you record fire drill instructions on your child’s device in your own voice-- a calmer, better alternative for young children and those who experience sensory overload. You tailor the steps to match the specific layout of your home, and because you’re recording the drills yourself, you can change your tone of voice or choice of words to make it easier for them to understand each step. Your simple, familiar voice commands guide your child to safety.

Schedule the exact day and time you want your drill to run.

Within the app, you schedule the fire drills to fall on a specific time of day, or even to repeat weekly, so the kids still get to practice even when you’re not around. Every drill is timed and logged so you can track their progress. Children use their own device to run the drills and collect achievement badges that motivate them to do better each time.

Once set, the drills run regularly, so the children in your care can practice fire safety repeatedly until they master each drill. When it’s time for a drill, your child gets a notification on their phone or tablet to open FireGuide. All they have to do is tap the button to start the drill, and the instructions you recorded for them begin to play. Once they make it to safety, they tap the button again to end the drill and that drill time is saved for you to view later. Your kids are challenged to do better with every drill and collect achievement badges over time! Easy, simple, fun, and free.
